Kenneth Lipman was raised as an Orthodox Jew and was circumcised on his 8th day — meaning his foreskin was cut off.
He wrote the non-fiction Should I Circumcise My Son? — The Complete Guide to Making Your Decision, which he hopes to publish in 2023. His goal had been to prove circumcision was a valuable practice, but the research showed otherwise. The book covers ritual (religious) circumcision, which is practiced by Jews and Muslims worldwide, and medical circumcision, practiced commonly in America for people of all faiths. He believes circumcision was created and maintained by a tragic series of misjudgments.
He has also written the as yet unpublished memoir Dancing with Chronic Fatigue, about overcoming chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, and Lyme disease.
He meditates daily and is a recovering atheist. On weekends, he often plays guitar and piano at music jams. He is a former member of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, the largest futures exchange in the world. He has a Ph.D. in Integrative Health and lives with his dog Joni Mitchell, in Berkeley, CA. His Twitter handle is @KenLipman.
